I am currently a research associate at Newcastle University, after being a research assistant at the University of Edinburgh. My research interests are in the fields of phonetics and phonology, and I have also touched on topics in sociophonetics in my previous work. My doctoral thesis was on emphatic consonants in Central Mount Lebanon Lebanese.

I did my undergraduate studies in English Language at the American University of Beirut, and an MSc in Linguistics, an MScR, then a PhD in Linguistics and English Language, at the University of Edinburgh.

I am passionate about languages, cultures, the arts, history, and the interaction between peoples; and my hobbies include programming, web design, photography, screenwriting, and watching beautifully shot and directed television series.
